Michael Pugh, Chairman of the Friends of the Nash Ensemble, qualified as a solicitor in 1972 and joined Barlow Lyde & Gilbert in the City, where he was a partner from 1975 until 1992. He then joined Coopers & Lybrand as a partner and the firm’s legal adviser in the UK, a position he also held with PricewaterhouseCoopers following merger, until his retirement in 2000. In addition to his role with the Nash Friends, Michael acts as the UK secretary of a rural development charity in India and runs an animal welfare charity founded in his wife’s memory.
